Kate – just stumbled upon your website and it must have been a God thing… I could so relate to what you so bravely shared… I lived my life for so many years – not even being able to look at myself in a mirror… I can so relate to the self hatred, the self doubt, and all the pent up pain… and like you I thought so many times of just ending it all. So sad those women we were… but I totally understand when you say how important just the smallest amount of kindness meant and means. I strive to be kind, to be nice, to be loving and to show grace – to all. I’m not always perfect at it – and I am sure that somewhere the small kindness I show does mean something to someone – but it means so very much to me. I am finally at a point where I love myself enough to be kind to others because I can finally be kind to myself… thank God for that… So thank you – thank you for sharing and reminding me I have not traveled this path alone – you were there beside me also… I will look forward to reading you and visiting your site!! Great work and thank you for the work you do!! Blessings to you!

Kate, you are such a gorgeous person. It takes a lot to be able to talk about this publicly and stay any manner of composed at all. I, too, have felt the effect of small kindnesses that I don’t think the giver actually realized meant as much as they did – it’s a wonderful thing, isn’t it? It was lovely meeting you at WDS and I hope we get to talk more next time we meet! Let me know if you’re ever in Austin, I’d love to get coffee!
