What is a Courageous Living Retreat?**On a slower internet connection, press "Play," then "Pause," watch the status bar to see when the video has fully downloaded, and then press "Play" again. Courageous Living Retreats are designed with one question in mind: How much FUN can you have in one weekend? Think good food, good conversation, time to nap in a patch of sun, time to play in a vibrant city, time to write, time to sketch, time to take beautiful pictures, time to connect with other like-minded souls who are using this time together to rest, re-boot, re-charge. How much FUN can you have? Courageous Living Retreats are held during select weekends in 2010 in San Francisco as well as in Florence, Italy. You don't need to do anything other than expect to spend time relaxing, nurturing you. Outings will be available as a group, or you can elect to get the rest you need in a quiet, natural environment. Whether you choose a comfy bed with a book or a photowalk in the city, you get to indulge in what nourishes you--a courageous choice for self-care that, in return, allows you to live bigger when you return to your everyday life. Retreat in California, Retreat in ItalyNext Question: San Francisco, or Italy? If you sign up for a San Francisco retreat, you'll be staying in the beautiful Marin Headlands in a private rented house shared with other participants. The beach is just a short walk away, the paths around the house lined with trees that tower hundreds of feet into the air. You can smell the cedar and eucalyptus. In the city of San Francisco you'll have the option to go on photowalks through Chinatown, sip real Italian espresso, drink Ghirardelli hot chocolate, or people watch in a quiet nook of the city. If you're interested in joining us in Florence in October 2010, you'll stay in a centuries old Italian villa just outside of Florence, nestled quietly away from the hustle-and-bustle of central Florence. With me (Kate) as your Italian-speaking guide, our group will explore the city of Florence, sample local wines, take a day trip to medieval towns. The villa is outfitted with beautiful antiques and the walls are painted with Italianate frescoes. If Italy has ever been a dream of yours, this is one very, very Courageous Retreat! What does the retreat include? For more information about Italy, download the PDF on this Italian vacation. Any restrictions? Please note that the retreat is a women's retreat, and that it is a non-smoking retreat--smoking is not allowed in the house where we're staying or on the grounds. How do I register?Retreats space is limited to ensure that our group is intimate and that we have some breathing room as we share the house, together. Groups will usually be between 10-15 people. Beds and room assignments are given on a first come, first-served basis. Click here to register for your retreat.
