The E-Book Course Modules:
Level 1: Self-Care, Belief & Story :: Level One covers Self-Care and Belief and Story. However– This is not “get a facial every week” Self-Care advice! This is:
- Managing your Inner Critic so that you aren’t swamped with fear.
- Self-care by looking at the drama in your life.
- Living from your Values and your Life Vision.
- Looking at how it’s caring for you when you live your life in integrity.
- Understanding why it is that we slip out of self-care in the first place.
Belief & Story then goes on to explore the habitual thoughts that we have around our lives, the assumptions we make about ourselves and others. And along the way, we establish your goals for your Courageous Year. Level One includes: 179 pages, more than 35 lessons, multiple exercises, and access to 19 videos that complement lessons, plus interviews with Jen Louden, Pixie Campbell, Valerie Tookes, Cafe Gratitude Co-Founders Matthew & Terces Engelhart, and Christine Mason Miller. Also included? Level Two :: Emotions; Commitment & Accountability :: Level 2 covers Emotions as well as Commitment & Accountability. We’ve all had the experience of having a rockstar day and then something happens and the emotions rise up…then we’re left wondering, “What happened? Why couldn’t I control my anger/sadness/fear and not let it affect my day?”
- The Courageous Year is about courageously looking at your emotions and then working with them–not trying to suppress them or recite affirmations until they go away. At the same time, no one wants to wallow in their emotions–so the Year looks at how to move through them in a way that’s pro-active.
- The Year also looks at what it’s like to just be upset or angry, and let that be what it is, rather than suffering through what you feel.
Commitment & Accountability takes a good look at what comes up for you around committing to something (including over-committing!) and remaining accountable. Sometimes we have an aversion to either of these areas, and this part of the year looks at why that is. Now you can see how this foundations is being built–we need Self-Care in order to give ourselves the space we need to create some kind of shift. We need to look at Stories so that we can then be ready to deal with Emotions…and then have tools for looking at Commitment & Accountability.

The Courageous Year, Level 3 :: Luck, Synchronicity & Magical Thinking; Relationships and Friendships :: The Courageous Year is all about practical tools–and there’s still space for big dreaming. Big dreaming takes us into the realm of what is still possible. It’s fun to play with if not sink into wholeheartedly. We start by examining your Stories around Luck, Synchronicity & Magical Thinking.
- Are certain people “just lucky”? Do you walk with the belief that you are not one of those people?
Then Level 3 moves into Relationships & Friendships, looking at how we interact with others. BONUS :: Included with this section of the course is a separate, partner-oriented e-book that you can give to your intimate partner and work through, together! Your partner can also access all of the videos. In this partner-oriented section, you’ll explore:
- why it is that people can get into conflict with one another, how to work through it, what works and what doesn’t, how to clean up after an argument, and how to explore when/if it’s time to let go of the relationship.

The course is called “The Courageous Year.” Do I have to commit to an entire year of doing something?
Nope, not at all. You can purchase the Level 1 e-book course module now, work it at your own pace, and if and when you’re ready, move on to Level 2.
