Are you a good client?
Are you a fit for coaching? Much is said about the importance of a coach having strong coaching skills, and not is much is said about a client needing to have effective clienting skills. Determining if you are a fit for coaching means looking at both sides.
Well, then--if you say so.
A good coach, counselor, or therapist will piss you off just a bit. People have different ideas about what “support” looks like, but almost no one thinks that “support” looks like the person you’re working with smiling at you and saying, “Well, then--if you say so,” when you’re in the middle of sobbing (again) over your life experience.
Blowing our cover
When other people irritate us, they’re blowing our cover, exposing the places where we are up against the limits of our compassion. When people are blowing our cover, however? There’s an opportunity.
Evolution into darkness, revolution into light
This is my truth: My own life has been an evolution into my darkness, that has resulted in a revolution into my own light. I’ve seen firsthand the power of looking at, turning over, getting curious about, confronting and being with all that is difficult within me, and that has meant feeling difficult emotions.
